Technology Tea: Using AI for Research at UPSem

Technology Tea: Using AI for Research at UPSem In-Person / Online

Join Dora for tea, gluten free scones, jam, and non-dairy whipped "cream." If you are joining us online, please make yourself a cup of tea and a sweet! We will focus this week on the basic structure and ethical usage of generative artificial intelligence, including both the positives and the negatives. The actual workshop session runs for about half an hour, but I will remain in the lab and online for another half hour for questions and socializing.

In this workshop, we will discuss:

  • A working definition of what is involved in generative AI
  • The ethical concerns surrounding the usage of AI
  • The current limitation of AI and its use in scholarly research
  • The Seminary's guideline for the use of AI in student research

Please note: while no research or technology workshop requires a pre-requisite, this session is a foundation for all following AI workshops
